
Fiona Tregenna
Professor, University of Johannesburg, South Africa.
Fiona Tregenna holds the South African Research Chair in Industrial Development and is a Professor of Economics at the University of Johannesburg. She has a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Cambridge, a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Massachusetts, and earlier degrees from the Universities of the Witwatersrand and Natal. Her primary research interests relate to structural change, de-industrialization and industrial development.
Fiona is also a part-time Member of the South African Competition Tribunal where she adjudicates competition cases, and serves on a number of boards and advisory panels and councils. She has been involved in economics research and policy for over twenty years – in academia, the trade union movement, research institutes, and as a consultant in South Africa and internationally.
